TRB asked not to approve petitions for hike in toll rates

Milagros “Mitos” Magsaysay yesterday said the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) should not approve the petition of toll operators to impose hikes on the rates at Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx), Star Tollway and the Manila-Cavite Expressway, citing that there are no significant improvements on the roads that could justify their request.
“There is a saying that you get what you pay for, and if they want to demand an increase in their rates, then they should first justify why there is a need for it. They should invest in the travel experiences of their clients and ensure that their hikes commensurate an improvement in the services,” she said..... MORE

"Should the petitions be granted, the SCTEx will increase its Class 1 rates (cars, jeepneys, vans) to P324 from P272. Class 2 vehicles (light trucks and buses) rates will go up to P648 from P543. Class 3 (trailers and large trucks) will pay P972 instead of the normal P815."
