QC, Navotas governments support Manila Bay clean-up campaign

The local governments of Quezon City and Navotas City yesterday threw their full support to the initiative of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to rehabilitate and preserve the Manila Bay and other water and river systems of the metropolis.

QC Mayor Herbert “Bistek” Bautista and Navotas Mayor John Reynald Tiangco said in separate phone interviews they will lead their respective contingents in the simultaneous metro-wide waterways clean-up dubbed “One Day One Bay” on Nov. 26, Saturday, that will begin from 6 a.m. to 12 noon.

Bautista and Tiangco both lauded the steps taken by DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo to unite all people in the 17 local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila from across all economic sectors for a common cause to clean up the waterways and river systems that lead to Manila Bay..... MORE
