\"The Philippines is a democratic and republican State. Sovereignty resides in the people and all government authority emanates from them.” (Phil. Constitution, Article II, Section 1)
On the ground version: “The Philippines is an autocratic and dynastic State. Sovereignty resides in the rich and powerful, and all governing authority originates from them.”
This is appalling but true, nauseating but real, disgusting but actual. Those who honestly and sincerely believe say and/or claim otherwise are either: Deaf, dumb, blind. Credulous, foolish, ridiculous. Or the rich and powerful government authorities themselves.
