QCPD names gangs of robbers involved in BPI branch heist
By Gina Peralta-Elorde 07/17/2011The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has identified the more than 15 armed men who robbed a bank in Quezon City as remnants of dreaded robbery gangs.
According to Chief Insp. Rodelio Marcelo, chief of the QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU), 10 of the armed men were remnants of the notorious Alvin Flores, Ampang Colangco and Kuratong Baleleng syndicates.
Marcelo said the suspects robbed the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City in less than four minutes with each of the members acted with precision and had individual task.
