Even in the supposed blacklisting of the country by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) against money laundering, it appeared that Noynoy’s dirty tricks operators were at work to exert pressure on Congress into rushing the amendments to the Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) and allow him and his allies easier access to bank accounts of individuals whom they can label as having a suspicious account.

The process needed to inquire into a bank account will be greatly reduced in the amendments and aside from the law being used largely against drug, crime syndicate and terrorist money, the amended law is also being targeted as a toll against graft, which had evolved into having a self-serving definition for the yellow regime of Noynoy.

One of the proposed amendments in the bill will be to allow authorities, particularly the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) to look into bank accounts ex-parte or without the need to notify the holders of the accounts by the mere identification of the account as having suspicious transactions..... Vatican slams new book of leaked documents as ‘criminal’

The Vatican is threatening to take legal action against those responsible for publishing a new book of leaked internal documents. The book sheds light on power struggles and corruption inside the Holy See and the thinking of its embattled top banker.

Pope Benedict XVI has already appointed a commission of cardinals to investigate the “Vatileaks” scandal. It erupted earlier this year with the publication of leaked memos alleging corruption and mismanagement in Holy See affairs and internal squabbles over its efforts to comply with international anti-money-laundering norms.

The publication Saturday of “His Holiness” by Italian journalist Gianluigi Nuzzi, added fuel to the fire, reproducing confidential letters and memos to and from Pope Benedict and his personal secretary which, according to the Vatican, violated the pope's right to privacy..... MORE

So it is that the same egoistic, reddish and impaired government is bent in making population control as its sick and sickening answer to the national underdevelopment it continuous to aggravate, and to the social-retrogression in the country it successfully maintains. So it is that the incumbent ethically broke government looks at people as a big enemy, a huge liability — although it is people who are its primary export, that wherefore money remittances they send for the total disposition of and the big wastage by the same government.

Boxing icon, Forbes Magazine’s fourth most popular sportsman for the year has brought his punches outside the ring with his bold statements against President Barack Obama’s pro gay jabs and undercuts favoring the chronic American issue on gay marriage rights. Of course, Manny Pacquiao’s deadly or winning punch is his “right” hook. Indeed, his “righteousness” on the moral issue of gay marriage rights is a straight punch on Obama’s nose, right there in the country that generously hosted his boxing feats and appended him to the America’s list of sports celebrities.

Currently, US social networks are crowding Manny Pacquiao’s internet space demonizing his pronouncements calling him by all names such as a racist or bigot. Several US event guestings and even commercial endorsements were about to be cancelled. Down here the pro gay movements and their supporters in Congress began ganging up on the Filipino champ and gentleman from Sarangani district for being discriminatory on the lesbians, gay, bisexual and transgenders (LGBT)...... Fake CJ SALn pops up in cyberwar vs Corona

05/20/2012
The cyberwar launched by supporters of President Aquino against Chinese Web sites seemed to have flowed over to Internet sites backing Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona.

The battle for public opinion among the supporters and critics of Corona turned ugly yesterday as the main website of pro-Corona groups acquitcj.com fell victim to hacking by groups backing his conviction with even a forged statement of assets, liabilities and networth (SALn) for 2011 of the embattled chief magistrate being posted in it.

The Web site was launched in support of Corona’s acquittal saying the site was for truth, fairness and justice; and judicial independence but until late last night, it contained mostly information maligning Corona his wife Cristina and certain personalities believed allied with him, including a senator-judge, who has frequently admonished members of the House prosecution panel for its poor handling of the impeachment allegations against the Supreme Court (SC) head..... Lower courts can’t issue TROs vs government projects — SC

Benjamin B. Pulta 05/20/2012

The Supreme Court has upheld a law prohibiting lower courts from issuing a restraining order on national government projects.

In a decision, the high court’s First Division through Associate Justice Lucas Bersamin denied a suit filed by a government supplier, Nerwin Industries Corp. against the Philippine National Oil Corp.-Energy Development Corp. (PNOC-EDC).

The court pointed out that a law passed in 2000, Republic Act 8975 outrightly clips lower court’s powers from enforcing restraining orders on government agencies..... MORE

Cagayan solon urges DepEd to revise present curriculum

By Charlie V. Manalo 05/20/2012

Cagayan Rep. Jack Enrile yesterday called on the Department of Education (DepEd) to review and reinforce the existing basic education curriculum, especially with the implementation of the K+12 system this coming school year.

Enrile said a curriculum review before classes start in June will allow educators to better incorporate any additional subjects required under the K+12 system and reinforce existing subjects to stress soft competencies such as critical thinking, initiative and effective communication.

The lawmaker noted that adding years to basic education will be for naught if the quality of education remains poor..... MORE
