Zamboanga readies CCTV project worth P21 million
01/14/2012ZAMBOANGA CITY — The city government has allocated over P21 million for a comprehensive Close Circuit Television (CCTV) Camera system covering a four-kilometer radius from city hall to help prevent and resolve crimes.
Mayor Celso Lobregat said over 100 CCTV cameras that will be installed may not, by itself prevent crime, but “will help in the investigation of crimes.”
The mayor has repeatedly voted against the project for the past few years on the ground that “cameras cannot prevent crimes.”.... MORE
