CPP warns of more attacks on poor by Aquino gov’t

Mallari 01/14/2012The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) has branded the violent demolition of shanties in San Juan City as a clear sign of the Aquino administration’s “anti-people character” as it warned of more attacks against the poor by the present government to push its so-called public-private partnership (PPP) program.
In a statement, the CPP noted that fully-armed demolition teams from the Philippine National Police last Wednesday violently dispersed the residents of Barangay Corazon de Jesus who were protecting their homes.
“Armed with automatic rifles, truncheons and teargas and backed by heavy machinery, the Philippine National Police (PNP) and demolition crew attacked the community and broke the barricades put up by the residents,” the CPP said..... MORE

in the event of overhaul, land reform should also cover non-agrarian land issues, like housing. pero dapat ding i.weed out ang professional squatters sa hindi. ang mga nanglalamang ay hindi exclusive sa mga mayayaman, dapat nating tandaan yan. turuan natin ng ethics, ng katipunan ethics ang lahat upang umayos ang bayan.
