CPP scores planned increase in US military presence in Asia-Pacific Region

Mallari 01/20/2012The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) yesterday scored the planned increase in United States military presence in the Asia Pacific region, particularly within Philippine territories, as meant to maintain permanent stationing of US troops and “interventionist” plans in the region.
In a statement, the CPP denounced the announcement made by Malacacañg on Tuesday, after President Aquino’s meeting with US Senators John McCain, Joseph Lieberman, Sheldon Whitehouse and Kelly Ayotte, about the conduct of more military exercised between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and US troops.
“The US imperialists are having a heydey in their interventionism in the Philippines under the pliant puppet Aquino regime. Under Aquino, the US government has been conducting more and more ‘military exercises’ in the Philippines, specifically along the coast of Palawan that faces the South China Sea,” the CPP said.....
