Jeepney fare will remain at P8 till yearend, says LTFRB
11/18/2011Jeepney fare will stay put at P8 at least until the end of the year amid petitions for increase by transport groups in the country.
“We will invite the public and the transport sector for further consultations in the coming days,” Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) board member Manuel Iway said.
Iway added as much as possible, no fare hike will be enforced in the thick of the holiday rush where most Filipinos prepare for the Christmas season next month..... MORE

magandang balita, ah. sa isang taon na lang ang fare hike. lol.
"The groups asked LTFRB to raise the minimum fare by P2 for the first four kilometers and 35 cents for every succeeding kilometer. This will make the rate for succeeding kilometer at P1.75 from the current P1.35.
"The last increase in jeepney fares took place in January."
