He took the hills as an idealistic young man, who probably had thought he could change the system, like many of his other contemporaries who have sacrificed more, with others even giving their lives for the cause, while some were snuffed out by their own comrades, who believed in their own cleansing, but which ultimately led to the weakening of the Philippine left movement.
