15 tourists killed as bus falls off cliff in Cebu
06/14/2010 At least 15 tourists, including Iranians and Pakistanis, were killed when their bus fell into a ravine while negotiating a mountain road in Cebu province yesterday, police said. Many people were also injured as the bus, carrying as many as 70 holidaymakers and local guides, fell into a deep ravine in Sitio Buli, Barangay Cansumuroy, Balamban in western Cebu, PO3 Arden Trocio of the Balamban Police Station said. Police report said the bus was returning to Cebu City when it apparently lost its brakes and then plunged into a 30-meter ravine. Several seriously injured passengers were taken to hos-pitals, paramedics from the Cebu City- the Cebu City-based Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF) said.
