Kapunan 02/27/2010 After almost three decades since that political orgy at Edsa, people from all walks of life wonder whether change has really taken place, least to put value to their being liberated from the so-called “Marcos dictatorship.” The voodoo miracle the late Cardinal Sin used to enchant them has lost its spell, and they are now back to their senses. So for that long period of time, their perception of the event has already passed the phase of comparing the present with the past, but in interpreting the event as the symbol of wanton greed, monstrous failure, and unbridled hypocrisy. Thus, today anybody who would long for that glory is plainly longing for another political swindle. Liberal Party (LP) presidential aspirant Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino and his cabal of power-hungry and corrupt politicians are again flaunting their self-righteous crusade of promising not to steal.
