Bongbong’s run C.R.O.S.S.R.O.A.D.S Jonathan De la Cruz 11/22/2009 Last Friday, Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. led members of his family and the men and women of his father’s party — the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) — in forging a coalition agreement with the grand old Nacionalista Party (NP), now led by the party’s presidential bet, Sen. Manny Villar. The agreement, dubbed by “Bongbong” himself as a “Covenant for the Future” was a bold and, by their calculations, mutually beneficial initiative as both parties march together in facing the many challenges confronting the country and the world in this century. It has its own downside, of course, but the parties believe the Filipino people will eventually look at this effort with favor rather than disdain.
