4,000 CCTV cameras to be put up in QC’s strategic areas

Some 4,000 closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras are set to be installed in various strategic areas in Quezon City to curb the rising criminality in the premier city of the country.

Once installed on major and secondary roads in the city’s 142 villages, Mayor Herbert “Bistek” Bautista said they expect crime rates will decline sharply.

The mayor issued the statement after Tomasito Cruz, chief of City Planning and Development Office, informed him about the 4,000 proposed sites for CCTV installations.

Cruz said the proposed CCTV sites will be presented to technical working group during a meeting of the QC Peace and Order Council at Camp Karingal for proper evaluation and approval..... MORE
