No NSC meet, despite terror attack threats
By Aytch S. dela Cruz 06/18/2011Still rejecting full blown Cabinet meetings, including a meeting of the National Security Council, President Aquino is not scheduling an NSC meeting to discuss the reported threat of a terrorist attack, with Malacañang claiming that the intelligence report on the terrorist threat was “raw information.”
The Palace yesterday down-played the reported terrorist attack that was said to be plotted by local extremist groups while the nation was celebrating the Philippine Independence Day last Sunday, June 12.
Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said the intelligence report from where the information was reportedly culled was “raw and unconfirmed”, adding that it “is just one of many such reports received by the government on a regular basis”..... MORE
