Improper is the word to describe the Palace’s floating of its hot idea that public opinion and surveys will influence the Senate court that would try the impeachment of Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez.
The Palace mouthpiece with the longest title Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning (PCDSP) Secretary Ramon Carandang said a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showing a 52 percent support on Gutierrez’s impeachment should have a bearing on the senators who would sit as judges on the impeachment court.
The obvious hand of Noynoy in the House vote to impeach Gutierrez was already reprehensible even without Carandang’s pitch..... MORE
