Ligot couple’s lawyers, counsels of Joc-joc, Iggy ‘Jose Pidal’ Arroyo

Jacinto Ligot and his wife Erlinda, the couple facing forfeiture charges and are alleged to have ill-gotten wealth, have employed the services of the law firm that represented two personalities in the past who were embroiled in a similar controversy.
The Ligot couple’s lawyers, Antonio Zulueta and Rafael Zialcita, once served as legal counsels for Bacolod Rep. Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo and former Department of Agriculture (DA) undersecretary Jocelyn “Joc joc” Bolante when the two appeared before Senate proceedings several years ago, Tribune sources in the Senate said yesterday.
Zulueta served as Arroyo’s lawyer when the latter faced the Senate to defend his claims that he owned the so-called Jose Pidal accounts containing over P300 million in deposits, initially alleged by Sen. Panfilo Lacson as being owned by his brother, former First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo.
Zulueta was also noted in the records of the 2008 proceedings of the Senate blue ribbon committee during the reopening of the P728-million fertilizer fund scam, as Bolante’s lawyer..... MORE
