Erap says rights abuses show lack of political will
By Gerry Baldo and Aytch S. de la Cruz 03/15/2010 Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino standard bearer former President Joseph Estrada scored yesterday President Arroyo’s lack of political will in addressing the numerous human rights cases that happened under her watch. Estrada, reacting to the US State Department report on extrajudicial killings in the country, said that the report was embarrassing for the government since it reflected the lack of commitment of the incumbent administration on upholding human rights. “This report proved that we are correct in identifying peace and order as the top issue that the next administration must address,” Estrada said.
