There they go C.R.O.S.S.R.O.A.D.S Jonathan De la Cruz 12/06/2009 Quite apart from the long expected filing by President Arroyo of her certificate of candidacy (CoC) for representative of Pampanaga’s 2nd district, the political fever went into high gear with last minute filings by a number of high profile candidates including those of reelectionist Senators Dick Gordon and Jamby Madrigal, both for president and MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando as Gordon’s runningmate. But the twists and turns were not limited to the top national offices. A lot of such workouts happened in many provinces which, of course, caught many observers by surprise. The personalities and forces vying for the thousands of elective positions in the 2010 elections are so varied and truly colorful that next year’s polls can be expected to be one of the most dramatic and, yes, game changing in more ways than one, in years.
