AFP backs amendments of HSA on counter-terrorism

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) yesterday expressed full support to the proposed amendments of the Human Security Act (HSA) of 2007 to further strengthened the country’s counter-terrorism campaign.

“The AFP is supportive to the proposed amendments of the HSA of 2007. For the AFP as implementers and enforcers of the law, such proposed changes are measures that will further enhance our overall anti-terrorism efforts and campaign,” AFP-Public Affairs Office chief Col.

Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos Jr. said.

Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, who is also the chairman of the Anti-Terrorism Council, earlier cited the need to strengthen the HSA to make its responsive to the threat posed by terrorist groups in the country..... MORE
