100 OFWs from Jordan will come home this month
By Mina Diaz 07/03/2011Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) announced yesterday that 100 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), most of them household service workers who are being sheltered at the Filipino Workers Resource Center (FWRC) at the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Amman, Jordan, will finally come home to the Philippines this July.
Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz made the announcement of the mass repatriation of the OFWs after the government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan recently approved its General Pardon Law of 2011 clearing all criminal and misdemeanor offenses, violations and acts that took place before June 1, 2011 and exempting offenders from the payment of fees and fines for specific cases.....
