44th World Day of Peace: Religious Freedom, the Path to Peace

World Day of Peace has been celebrated on the first day of every year since 1968. The theme chosen by Pope Benedict XVI to mark its 44th celebration this year is “Religious Freedom, the Path to Peace.’’
