Enough of the ‘moral’ hypocrisy

FRONTLINE Ninez Cacho-Olivares 03/17/2010 Gloria and her Foreign Affairs chief, Alberto Romulo, want to project that her administration, as well as the country, as being so against the ruling Myanmar junta in banning Aung San Suu Kyi from elections. Being a sovereign country, the Philippines has no right to meddle in the affairs of another country to protest this move of the junta that had not allowed Suu Kyi, who won the polls years ago, to have her sit in power. Moreover, the Philippines, under Gloria Arroyo and her administration, is hardly in a position to assume a high moral and even constitutional ground, given the fact that Gloria and her civil socialites, Romulo included, trampled on the Constitution and democratic rules, apart of course, from cheating again, in the 2004 polls, to win Malacañang....
