Power barges to be tapped; contracts may total P10B Crisis declared; Aboitiz, Alcantara power deals up By Aytch S. de la Cruz  03/05/2010   The lease of expensive generator barges and the signing of electricity contracts with the Aboitizes and the Alcantaras, known business associates of President Arroyo and her spouse, Mike Arroyo, will be the main feature of the declaration yesterday of a state of power crisis at Mindanao. Arroyo gave her consent to Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes’ proposal to invoke Section 71 of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (Epira). The various power contracts are estimated close to P10 billion, according to an energy sector source....
