AFP sticks to claims of killing 3 Sayyaf leaders

Mallari 02/07/2012Despite doubts on the claimed death of three top Abu Sayyaf and Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) leaders in Sulu due to non-recovery of the bodies, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) yesterday stuck to its claims stressing that gathering of “physical” evidence to back up its information is now ongoing.
Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) chief Maj. Gen. Noel Coballes said that as far as the military is concerned, ASG leader Abu Jumdail alias Dr. Abu, and JI leaders Malaysian Zulkipli bin Abdul Hir alias Marwan, and Singaporean Muhamda Ali alias Muawiya, were killed during Thursday’s air strike in Parang town.
“We are only trying to look for the physical evidence but all information on the ground even civilians around the area already confirmed that the three big leaders of the terrorists were among those killed,” Coballes said..... MORE
