Ombudsman orders Ligots’ wealth worth P55M forfeited

Acting Ombudsman Orlando Casimiro, in an 18-page order, recommended that a Supplemental Petition for Forfeiture be filed before the Sandiganbayan against Ligot, his wife Erlinda Yambao-Ligot, daughter Riza, and sons Paulo and Miguel, along with Edgardo Yambao and Gilda Alfonso-Velasquez.
The case stemmed from the complaint filed by the Office of the Ombudsman’s Field Investigation Office (OMB-FIO) which revealed that the retired general has acquired other assets/properties in the form of bank deposits and investment accounts, which were not included in the previous case filed against him and his family before the anti-graft court.....
