Magdalo supported defeated top candidates Villar, Roxas

Antonio Trillanes IV, who now consider himself a political ally of President Aquino, said it was a collective decision of his Magdalo group, not his, to back up during the last elections the candidacies of defeated candidates Senators Manuel Villar Jr. and Manuel Roxas II.
Villar, president of the Nacionalista Party (NP), ran for the presidency while Roxas, president of the Liberal Party (LP), was gunning for the vice presidency.
Sometime late February, Magdalo announced that Villar and Roxas have gotten their support, promising to deliver at least 250,000 votes.
“There were certain dynamics that the group observed before we arrived with that decision,” said Trillanes, explaining for the first time of the issue.
“In fact, I didn’t vote myself but I was bound by the decision of the group. And I made that decision on my own. That was as far as the campaign is concerned. The people have now spoken and we have to move on. We cannot go against the will of the people,” he said..... MORE
