Migz decries Koko’s false charges
By Angie M. Rosales 07/17/2010 Sen. Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri yesterday rapped defeated senatorial candidate Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel on what he termed as “falsities” and malicious charges following the accusations made by the latter who had claimed that Zubiri deceived the Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET) which had already come up with a resolution allowing the counter-suit filed by Zubiri. Pimentel had charged that alleged staff members of Zubiri participated in and presented themselves as “representatives” of the three senators sitting as judges in a pending electoral case against their principal. “This is absolutely false. This is a pure canard,” Zubiri told the Tribune, in reaction to the charge made by Pimentel, adding that “it pains me that he (Pimentel) would engage in such malicious, dirty tricks.” Zubiri yesterday decried the malicious attempt by Pimentel to obstruct due process by trying to railroad the rules and processes of the SET. “How can Koko say the fight is over when my 25 percent counter protested area clearly shows that cheating took place in Metro Manila and Mega Manila especially when the SET revisors found tens of thousands of spurious or fake ballots in these areas?” Zubiri pointed out.
