CA junks Ping’s petition to stop DoJ probe on Dacer murder case 03/05/2010 The Court of Appeals (CA) has dismissed the motion for reconsideration filed by lawyers of Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson to stop the Department of Justice (DoJ) from conducting a preliminary investigation into the Dacer-Corbito double murder case. In a resolution issued by CA 10th Division Associate Justice Juan Enriquez Jr., Lacson’s motion for reconsideration was deemed “moot and academic” as the DoJ panel of prosecutors had already terminated its investigation and filed criminal charges against the fugitive senator before the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC).
