02/03/2010 I’m not sure if it was really all right for Sir Paul McCartney, a quarter of the Beatles whose music rocked the world even before man set foot on the moon, when he sent his love to aliens when he congratulated the Nasa for sending out their song “Across the Universe,” in an effort to make contact with extraterrestrial beings in the region of Polaris, or the North Star. The song was beamed in 2008, but it won’t be until the year 2439 when the Nasa message would reach its intended recipients, if there are any, or the effort and all the money spent for the endeavor would only prove futile. While this rubbernecker would like to stir a controversy by questioning the Nasa’s choice of a song (and why not the Carpenters’ “Calling occupants of interplanetary craft?), he is fascinated with man’s continued fascination with alien life form when man, himself, has veered away from such interest, as he had once shown enthusiasm with Apollo 11 sent three astronauts, from one of whom his name was taken from, to the moon....
