Television evangelist Pat Robertson received a lot of rebuke for spewing a very offensive view on the catastrophe in Haiti, proclaiming it as a punishment from his God, for what he believes was the Haitian’s pact with the devil in exchange for their victory over the French before the 1800s, which some Americans viewed as foul and uncalled for. Robertson, described in his official Web site as a broadcaster, humanitarian, author, Christian, businessman, statesman and many other feel-good descriptions, was of course, among the leading figures in the communist scare of the 1970-1980s, when Haiti was then ruled by the father-son dictators Francois “Papa Doc” Duvalier and Jean-Claude “Baby Doc” Duvalier,” who, like Ferdinand Marcos....
