Church faulted for prior restraint
In legal parlance, the term “prior restraint” is used to encapsulize a situation wherein the state employs its vast powers to prevent communications (usually in the newspapers or stories written in media) from reaching their intended audience, which is the public. In short, it’s what’s known as censorship. It was coined many, many years ago in the United States to describe recurring incidents where the government stepped in, citing some excuse or another, to stop the publication of a story which was based on a specific document or the document itself.....
