De Lima, OSG to review maritime law to defend RP claim on Scarborough
05/01/2012Department of Justice (DoJ) Secretary Leila said on Monday she is set to meet with officials of the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) for a review of the country’s Maritime Law.
The OSG is an attached agency of the DoJ.
This is the action taken by De Lima on the directive of President Aquino for the review of the Maritime Law in order to come up with the official position of the country in filing its argument before the international court concerning the Panatag (Scarborough) Shoal issue.
De Lima said one of the considerations they will look into is whether or not a complaint will prosper even without the consent of the People’s Republic of China..... MORE
