House ignores Tribune’s request for prosecution’s SALn
03/10/2012House of Representatives Secretary General Marilyn Barua-Yap has completely ignored the formal request of the Daily Tribune to provide Publisher and Editor in-Chief Ninez Cacho-Olivares copies of the prosecution team’s Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Networth (SALn).
In a letter dated Feb. 20, 2012 to Yap, the Tribune specifically asked her to provide the following members of Congress, namely, Congressmen Niel Tupas Jr., lead prosecutor, Reynaldo Umali, Elpidio Barzaga, Jr., Rodolfo Farinas, Lorenzo Tanada. Raul Daza. Joseph Emilio Abaya. Neri Colmenares, Kaka Nag-ao, Giorgidi Aggabao, Miro Quimbo. Sherwin Tugna and Sonny Angara.
The purpose stated in the letter is that the Tribune plans to do an article on the status of public officials, such as the SALn status of the prosecution panel, as the prosecutors, from their arguments before the impeachment court appear to see SALns non-disclosure and government officials and employees omissions of their assets as a crime worthy of impeachment for impeachable officers and a long jail term for non impeachable officers.....
