SC rejects Quiambao group appeal in Stradcom row

A ruling by the Supreme Court (SC) has denied with finality the petition filed by businessman Cezar Quiambao seeking the dismissal of the interpleader case filed by the government over the ownership of the firm providing the billion-peso infotech services for the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Quiambao is one of the parties seeking to be recognized as the controlling owner of government contractor Stradcom Corp.

In a four-page resolution dated Jan. 24, the Court held that Quiambao’s motion for reconsideration of its Aug. 23, 2011 decision lacks merit and fails to raise new arguments that would warrant the setting aside of the said ruling..... MORE
