Lagman yields post to Suarez, takes dig at GMA

After weeks of a tug-o-war over the House minority leadership, Albay Rep. Edcel Lagman finally conceded in favor of Quezon Rep. Danilo Suarez. But not without taking a final dig at his “former” colleague.

In a statement, Lagman said he is tendering his resignation to pave the way for Suarez’s ascension as House Minority Leader even as he claims the Quezon lawmaker still does not have the support of the absolute majority of minority members.

Lagman further described Suarez as former President Gloria Arroyo’s anointed one, adding that his relation with some minority members “who are closely allied with and beholden to Arroyo has become grossly untenable.”.... MORE
