It is not strange that Noynoy and former President Fidel V. Ramos are speaking in one voice against the launching of an all-out war against the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) despite the blatant aggression of the group in the encounter in Basilan that resulted in the death of 19 soldiers.
Also, it was not unlikely for Noynoy to seemingly fold up and blame the military for the incident while taking great care and making all the assurances to the MILF that the peace negotiations are not affected by the secessionist group’s own violation of the ceasefire.
Both Fast Eddie and Noynoy cited the displacing of civilian residents for opposing a major offensive against the MILF as if the current situation where the rebels hold portions of Mindanao as strongholds is a preferred way for a peaceful set up..... MORE
