Yes, unbelievable! We actually have a president and commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) who refuses to have the soldiery fight the secessionist Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) because, as he claims, an all-out war will exact “a high price in blood,” as such an all-out war will only result in a “terrible toll on human lives,” particularly among the people of Mindanao.
He doesn’t think, apparently, that his position in not allowing the soldiers to fight the MILF — nor apparently, even go near those claimed MILF-held areas as soldiers will be shot down by the rebels — is exacting a high price of the blood of our soldiers whose widows they leave behind.
It is moronic of Noynoy to even make such a statement publicly, because now the MILF knows it can go on shooting and killing the government troops and get away with it, because the rebels now know that the Philippine president and commander-in-chief of the military will not wage any kind of offensive against the Muslim insurgents as Noynoy fears that such a way will exact a high price of blood, and that there would be a terrible toll on human lives..... "The MILF always claims that it is the AFP that starts the firefight, and there is Noynoy who takes the yellow-bellied commander-in-chief stand, buying the lies of the MILF and coddling the rebels.
"If Noynoy thinks the military will respect him and hold him in high esteem for coming up with such a position that benefits the enemies of the state, he has another think coming to him. And it may well be a dangerous think!"
