DILG orders BFP to conduct probe on firecracker firms
12/28/2011With barely a week before the New Year’s eve revelry, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo on Monday directed the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) to immediately conduct fire safety inspection on all establishments in the country dealing with the manufacture, distribution and sale of firecrackers and other pyrotechnics.
In a directive to BFP officer-in-charge F/Supt. Samuel Perez, Robredo instructed the acting fire chief to deploy all regional and field units to inspect establishments and stores that are peddling, distributing and manufacturing firecrackers in their respective areas of jurisdiction..... MORE
