JAKARTA — Determined yet cautious, the Philippines shoots for the title Sunday evening against dangerous Thailand in men’s basketball finals in the 26th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) here.
This could be the gold medal that would soothe Filipino egos as the rest of the Philippine team failed miserably in all fronts and fell way, way below officials’ projection of at least 70 gold medals and a top three finish.
The Philippines is wallowing at sixth place behind eventual overall champion Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, which share more than 300 golds among themselves.
