Aquino gov’t gets flak for inaction on botanist’s murder
11/16/2011The Aquino administration was severely criticized by friends and colleagues of scientist Leonard Co for what they called “the year of silence and inaction” by prosecutors on the botanist’s murder.
Co was killed along with his escorts Julius Borromeo and forest guard Sofronio Cortez by an Army unit in the area last year.
Supporters of the Justice for Leonard Co Movement went to the Department of Justice to reiterate calls to speed up the resolution of the case of the three who were murdered in Kananga, Leyte on Nov. 15, 2010.
