DFA advises Pinoys to postpone travel to Bangkok
By Michaela P. del Callar 10/31/2011Filipinos were advised by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to postpone traveling to Bangkok in Thailand this holiday break due to the flooding situation in the capital.
Non-essential travel like for tourism purposes should be postponed as the extent of the flooding situation in Bangkok is “changing very rapidly,” the DFA said quoting a report from its embassy there.
“No one is certain what would happen between today and Nov. 1, when the flooding is expected to peak due to the high tides and the large volume of water flowing from the northern provinces through the Chao Phraya river, which is now traversing Bangkok itself,” it said.
