Noy told: Forget friendship, don’t reinstate LTO chief

Mallari 06/20/2011It seems only Malacañang does not know about the April 6 memorandum of outgoing Department of Transportation and Communications Secretary Jose “Ping” de Jesus urging President Aquino to impose disciplinary actions on his shooting-buddy Land Transportation Office (LTO) chief Assistant Secretary Virginia Torres.
Yesterday, Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines (Fejodap) president Zeny Maranan cited the same memorandum by De Jesus in reiterating the group’s opposition to the reinstatement of Torres as LTO chief next week.
Maranan, at the same time, expressed concerns on how Malacañang is handling the LTO issue, citing reports of missing departmental memos like the April 6 memorandum of De Jesus to the President, through the Office of the Executive Secretary Pacquito Ochoa..... MORE
