Solon: Binay could be the first casualty in Roxas’ appointment

The impending appointment of Liberal Party (LP) president and defeated vice presidential candidate Manuel “Mar” Roxas in the Aquino government could adversely affect the working relationship between President Aquino and Vice President Jejomar “Jojo” Binay.

Maguindanao Rep. Simeon Datumanong yesterday speculated that Binay could well become the first casualty in the Aquino government once Roxas takes on his post as the chief government “troubleshooter.”

“Of course, somehow this (Roxas appointment) may affect the working relationship between Binay and Aquino. However, this is a matter within the discretion of the President,” said Datumanong who was the Justice Secretary during the time of former President Arroyo.
