Solgen asks high court to uphold Aquino’s EOs
| 08/27/2010 State lawyers have asked the Supreme Court (SC) to dismiss the suits seeking to nullify Executive Orders (EOs) 2 and 3. Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr., through the Office of the Solicitor General, yesterday argued that President Aquino has the power to revoke void or incomplete appointments without need of judicial intervention. “The President does not have to invoke the jurisdiction of the courts, via a petition for quo warranto, every time he intends to revoke a public servant or revoke an appointment,” he stressed.
