And of course I mean Hollywood, in the good old US of A, and if you’re wondering where I’m coming from, well, the 82nd Academy Awards is going on as I write. It’s such a welcome respite from the Manny Villar ads airing in all media, so please, can we talk about this muna?


The mind is clear, but the body is almost totally dependent on a cane; uneven flooring in most of our new movie theaters have altogether stopped me from going to the cinemas. And since I had long reverted to watching films on TV in the privacy of my bedroom, where on cable there is the pleasure of replays and on DVD, the magic of rewind, I didn’t know that there were 10 nominees slugging it out for this year’s Oscars Best Picture: Avatar, The Blind Side, District 9, An Education, Inglourious Basterds, Precious (based on the novel Push by Sapphire), A Serious Man, the animated Up, which is totally different from Up in the Air and The Hurt Locker....
