Fifty-two percent. The latest Pulse Asia survey reveals that five in 10 respondents will “surely not vote” for a candidate endorsed by Mrs. Arroyo. In October, that number was 43 percent. It seems that Captain Gibo’s plane may be encountering turbulence and dark clouds. But there is a silver lining — last year, media lumped the 43 percent “surely not vote” together with the 36 percent figure for “probably not vote” and headlined “79 percent won’t back Arroyo bet.” This year, while the surely nots may have increased by 9 percent, the probably nots have actually diminished by 14 percent (from 36 percent to 22 percent). That pulls the total combined count down from 79 percent to 74 percent. Four percent. Another development for Mr. Positive Campaign is the change in the “surely vote for a candidate endorsed by Mrs. Arroyo” column....
