Fraud to mar 2010 polls EDITORIAL Click to enlarge 03/02/2010 What is most important first step in any election to ensure that the sovereign will of the people is upheld, has not been taken and is being ignored by the Commission on Elections (Comelec). We may have automated elections in May, but what good is automation, when electoral fraud mars it, due to the Comelec’s incompetence to cleanse the voters’ list of double and multiple registrants, not to mention voters long dead? Any which way it is cut, what is clear is that the poll body had a lot of time to purge the fraudulent voters from the list, especially since the new registration was held early, besides which in all those non-election years, the Comelec certainly had all the time in the world to focus on the cleansing of the voters’ list....
