Manuel Villar Jr. finally attended the second to the last day of the Senate ’s sessions to deliver his defense against the findings of the committee of the whole sponsored by Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile. The gist of his defense was: “I brought myself up from extreme poverty and made myself rich through sipag at tiyaga. I don’t need money anymore. I have more than enough. I did not steal any money because of my position. If I wanted more, more, I would be concentrating on being a businessman instead of being a politician.”....
