Tough rules, but perhaps necessary, given the advantages the moneyed candidates have over the not-so moneyed bets by way of advertising themselves on electronic media. The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has released its campaign guidelines for the May 10 polls, one of which is that candidates running for national positions in the May 10, 2010 polls are only allowed to have 120 minutes for their broadcast advertisements or election propaganda in television for the whole entire campaign period, which begins in a few days.
